Wandsworth Armed Forces Day

Sunday 7th July

As a local community, Wandsworth is incredibly fortunate to have a variety of past and present residents who have dedicated their lives to National Service. Join us on Sunday 7 July in Battersea Park to celebrate these brave men and women with a variety of free and un-ticketed activities.

Meet local military and cadet squadrons and groups, challenge your friends with our assault course, enjoy music from a military band, marvel at military vehicle displays, and chat with local emergency service people.

You can also get hands on with the National Army Museums’ historic collection. See the uniform and equipment used by soldiers through the centuries and hear the stories about their service.

The National Army Museum will also be hosting Amazing Archaeology sessions throughout the day. Grab your trowel, brush and fedora and join us in discovering the amazing world of archaeology. Discover the amazing world of archaeology as you Help uncover, categorise, and log different artifacts from different time periods. Learn how archaeologists discover hidden treasures and how conservators keep these safe in our modern world.

Wandsworth Armed Forces Day is a perfect trip out for all ages and can be paired perfectly with a trip to the Cricket Pitch to watch Wandsworth’s cutest furry friends in the Battersea Dog Show! All this, alongside community stalls, fairground rides, and a bouncy castle & soft play for the little ones.
